Been coming to this restaurant since the La Placita days. The food here is excellent. The quality is always consistent and the recipes are authentic Sonoran fare. The menu is expansive and there's always something for everyone even if they don't like Authentic Sonoran Style Mexican food. (If there exists such people). On weekends, the wait can be a little long but definitely worth it. I suggest any of the standard items from the menu and especially the Carne Asada Plate. For vegetarians the Chili Verde con Queso is a brilliant choice.
Recommend totally. Thumbs up!
Coming from Colorado we know Mexican food! El Rodeo has become our favorite place for margaritas, salsa and their chicken fajitas. LOVE IT, LOVE IT LOVE IT!
My husband and I have been coming here for years! Love it! We've even catered our Christmas Eve dinners from here!
Love it
Good food
Great food
Great company in staff. Food is even better.
Good food, friendly staff. Especially fond of the waitress from Poland. What a gem she is.
This is definetely my favorite place to eat when I'm visiting the area! My order of choice is the chicken super quesadilla with horchata to drink. It can get pretty busy for the Sunday lunch crowd, but don't let that turn you away. Their kitchen is always great at getting the food out super fast.
Good food, clean establishment
Good Mexican food in Green Valley plus great servers. Most quiet Mexican place to eat in GV.
I really enjoy the atmosphere and the food and drinks.
Comfortable popular local spot with good variety and tasty food. Margaritas are from a mix, eh...
Idk if food was great but service was outstanding
Food and service always good
The salsa was the first thing that I disliked. She asked if we wanted mild or hot and we got 2 bowls of each. The “mild” tasted like tomato sauce with seasoning. The “hot” was more like mild. At least it had some good flavors in it, but there was nothing hot about it. I ordered guacamole hoping it would be a good addition. Sadly though it also did not have much flavor to it. The enchilada though was very good and the burrito was decent. We’re here visiting so next time we come I know where not to have Mexican food. The waitresses were very nice though. Also the margarita was great and she made it just the way I like it!! That’s where the second star comes in!
Food and service is excellent
Good food excellent setvice
We had breakfast here with a group of 8 friends. Everyone was happy, generous portions of tasty food.
We've been here several times. The food is fairly authentic, but the "spicy" salsa is barely what the store brands call medium, and tastes more like "duded up" tomato sauce. Other sauces are OK, but not special. The prices have jumped (up) quite a bit in the past three years. Service is average. Decor is average American Mexican. All in all, average.
Great food.Great service. I've been going there for years. I highly recommend eating there.
Delicious the Sonoran Benedict Eggs and the Divorciados Eggs great service Thank you
I have been here 3 times now (every time I'm in Tucson) and each time I have loved the food. The chicken fajita's are the best I've ever had. The hand made tortillas are great and really makes the meal. To top all of that the margaritas are amazing. Service each time had been fast, but not overly friendly.
Very good food and service. Highly recommend it.
Great food, service and prices. Amazing fajitas!
Delicious food at a fair price!
Great food and drink. And friendly and helpful service. Fahitas are the best!
Service was good apart from the long wait to get seated, and the food was incredibly bland and flavourless.
Great margarita. Great guacamole. Great service. I know I need to try something else on the menu but have not had my fill of the guacamole yet.
Packed on Friday night for the fried catfish
The best Margueritas and crisps. Staff is great.
Passing through on our way home to California. Mediocre would be and overstatement. Definitely not a 4.1 restaurant, not even a 2. Who has been lying on here?? Maybe I'm spoiled with authentic, delicious Mexican food but I was definitely not impressed and embarrassed for bringing my family of 6 here. How do you not add cheese to chilaquiles? Orange juice is terrible, i suggest fresh juice to make up for the lack of flavor in the food. Sausages are not links but patties, and there was not an ounce of "spicey" in their hot salsa. Not very welcoming to my Mexican family either. The toast was good so I guess they earned one star for a that. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!! A lot of people in their "retirement age" here🙄.
Excellent food. The $13 Carne Asada plate is the best item on the menu - fantastic flavor and great value (a lot of food). From a drink perspective good pricing on domestic draft pitchers (even cheaper during happy hour (4 to 6pm) but steer clear of the Margaritas (likely the worst thing the restaurant offers). As another reviewer mentioned make the drive to Wisdom's in Tumacacori for some of the best Margaritas on the planet!
Laura is the best . The food brings you to a state of heavenly delight
Excellent Mexican food! We drive almost an hour to come here for their tasty meals-even though we have plenty of choices in the Tucson area, this place is worth the trip! Everytime!
I do not know where most of these reviews came from, but the food here has no spice to it and the salsa is terrible!!! Will not go back again! Ever!!
Always great.
Love the place. Good food and great friendly service.
Excelente Servicios. Good enough for John McCain and good enough for us. The variety of dishes to pick from the menu is more than enough for several visits. Happy mother's day dinner was great and can find something to please everyone in our party of 8 but a lot of times we are a party of 10. PROVECHO!! Sincerely Roberto Carbajal Markovich
We've been here several times now. It may not be the most up to date decor, but the food is great! We've been looking for a "go-to" Mexican place locally and this will be ours! Though we've only been a handful of times, the staff already recognize us and are extra attentive to our 3 boys, which they LOVE. :-) Definitely a family friendly place.
Friday night fish fry is awesome!
The food is good and the service is fine. Anything south of Tucson you can almost expect horrible service. They do alright.
My favorite Mexican restaurant. Margaritas are deliciously yummy. Large tostada WONDERFUL have it once a week at least.
Good place to eat if you are on Green Valley and want Mexican Food.
This Restaurant usually offers good service and good tasting Mexican food
Alas, one of the owners grew weary and La Placita is now closed. The other owner says he plans to reopen but perhaps not under the same name. It's not a bit fancy but the food is very good. Service can be slow when they they are very busy. The crowd is widely varied which adds to the experience.
Good Mexican food restaurant, staff is always friendly and place is clean. Salsa is good and the food is very authentic. Always willing to accommodate large groups, and service is very fast.
Best food in the valley, in my opinion.
The sopa of tortilla and the extreme nachos and chilaquiles were delicious. The service was friendly kind and great.
